Some bakeries coast on nostalgia. Buttercooky Bakery & Café earns its 4.3-star rating across nearly 4,000 reviews by showing up every single morning at 6:30 AM with something worth getting out of bed for. At the Floral Park location on Jericho Turnpike, that means cases stacked with pastries that one reviewer, a former pastry chef who paid his way through university in a professional kitchen, called genuinely impressive. That kind of praise doesn't come from a box mix.

Buttercooky has grown to three locations across Floral Park, Manhasset, and Huntington, yet each shop still operates with the specificity of a single-location bakery. Families return year after year for their children's birthday cakes, trusting the kitchen to get the details right. Custom orders are taken seriously here, not treated as an afterthought between counter sales. And if you're in the mood to sit down, the café side delivers that too, right alongside BC Bistro, the American European fusion restaurant adjacent to the Floral Park shop.

The range is part of what keeps regulars coming back. One visit you're picking up a custom celebration cake. The next you're grabbing a morning coffee and something from the pastry case before work. Seven days a week, open from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM, there's rarely a wrong time to stop in.

What We Offer

Special orders are the heart of what Buttercooky does best. Whether you need a tiered birthday cake, a seasonal dessert centerpiece, or something entirely custom, the team takes your vision seriously and delivers it with the kind of execution that keeps families returning for years. Place your order ahead and pick it up at the Floral Park, Manhasset, or Huntington location that's most convenient for you.

Can't make it in? Delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub brings the bakery case to your door. Fresh pastries, café items, and select baked goods are available for delivery, so a slow Sunday morning at home doesn't have to mean skipping the good stuff.

The café side of the operation rounds out the experience. Pair your pastry with a proper coffee drink, grab a quick bite, or settle in for a longer sit. With the doors open every day from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Buttercooky fits into morning routines, afternoon breaks, and everything in between.

"Soooooooo, truth be told... I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I love pastries... I immigrated to the USA in my teens and I paid my way through University by working as a Pastry Chef... this was in the 90's... since leaving the industry to pursue my career in Finance I have been looking for a bakery that uses all natural ingredients, butter, sugar, flour, eggs etc... Now I will not put my neck on the block for any company that produces a product that I have not witnessed the production process from start to finish... that said, I think that this company does not use artificial ingredients... shortening, corn syrup etc... The proof is actually in the taste of the products... I've tried 1. an assortment of their cookies... which at $26.00 a pound is quite expensive but worth every penny. 2. Their Pecan Danish... I tried this at two of their stores... The Pecan Danish from the store in Huntington DID NOT have any pecans in the inside layers and only a few on the outside this was very disappointing. The one I got from their store in Floral Park was absolutely delicious with lots of pecans on the exterior and especially on the inside layers. Truly delicious and not a bad price at $5.25. 3. Their 5 inch Apple Pie was also very delicious with a fully baked crust that was not gummy or underrated. It was perfect and a good value at $6.95 4. Their Creme Brulee Croissant is my new favorite and a very good value at $7.25... It was filled and covered with adequate amounts of Pastry Creme which tasted exactly the way I used to make it with the vanilla beans. 5. The Orange Peel Croissant was my least favorite at $7.25 per croissant. I don't think that it's worth the price... I will not be buying that ever again... It tasted good but I think that at $7.25 is too pricey."

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Buttercooky Bakery! I have been purchasing my twins’ birthday cakes here for years, and they have never disappointed me. Each year, the cakes are delicious, fresh, and beautifully made. But this year was extra special — I shared my vision and pictures for their birthday cakes and cupcakes, and the owner went above and beyond to make sure everything came out exactly like the picture. His dedication and the attention to detail from his staff made my dreams a reality. The cakes not only looked perfect, but they tasted just as amazing as always. Thank you, Buttercooky Bakery, for making every birthday celebration memorable. Your commitment to quality and customer happiness truly shows. I’m so grateful and will continue to recommend you to everyone I know!"

"Worst birthday cake I've ever eaten. We stopped going here years ago after getting a stale cake from the counter. My husband didn't get the memo and ordered this ahead. It wasn't stale, but it was incredibly dry. You might say, but look at all that butter cream. That should even things out. The "buttercream" tastes and feels like pure crisco, inedible. Between the oily frosting and sticky ganache, washing the plates after was a real chore. The flavor of the cake was ok. Pastries might be good, but if anyone on here is complimenting their cake, I doubt they have ever tasted good cake in their life."

"I’ve been a longtime customer of Buttercooky Bakery and BC Bistro, but after my recent experience at the Floral Park location, I will never return. On May 10th, I purchased an assorted cookie tray. Two of the round jam-filled cookies had a very strong moldy/spoiled taste and smell. There was no visible mold, but the taste was unmistakable and lingered in my mouth even after rinsing multiple times. I initially let it go because the other cookies seemed fine, but when the second cookie of the same type had the exact same issue, I became concerned — especially because children could unknowingly eat them. When I brought the cookies back to the store, the manager’s response was shockingly dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of taking a food safety concern seriously, her first comment was essentially questioning why I was complaining after “already eating half.” I repeatedly explained that the issue was specific to one type of cookie, not the entire tray. She refused to test the cookie in front of me, took it to the back, then returned claiming that “the baker said it was fine,” while refusing a refund and offering only a few replacement cookies. As someone who owns and operates multiple retail businesses myself, I completely understand that mistakes happen — especially in food businesses. What matters is how management handles those situations. The product issue itself was disappointing, but the manager’s attitude and lack of professionalism were far worse. This experience reminded me how important customer communication and empathy are in business. One minute of poor customer service can permanently lose loyal customers. Very disappointing experience."
